Creating the iconic Cat-eye look by Sophia Loren

Hey guys!

I know it’s been a while since I uploaded anything at all on makeup, especially tutorials.

While I’m completely a novice when it comes to applying makeup to my face, I am yet to learn the techniques, in fact, I just recently started buying makeup, I bought my first makeup foundation only a couple of days ago, and I’m going to be 21 this year!

true story.

while I may be completely new to the game, it doesn’t really stop me from sharing my discoveries and attempts when it comes to makeup, we are all learners, after all, learning never ends, isn’t it?

Lately, I’ve been getting more and more fond of this particular look. When it comes to makeup fascination, the eye makeup takes it home for me.

I love it when the eye makeup is audacious, while the rest of the face is kept minimal.

Maybe some dramatic red lipstick to it💄

But oftentimes, I prefer it when just one area of the face is made the focal point.

I find it devilishly seductive, yet elegant.

I guess my overall makeup style, is minimal yet dramatic.

Creating the cat-eye look

In my take, learning how to perfectly apply eye makeup is one of the hardest and trickiest things to learn when it comes to makeup techniques.

A slain eye makeup application can really turn a rather plain face into something totally different, it can transform an entire look!

From simple to dramatic, each brushstroke technique can influence the kind of aura you project, from gentile to dreamlike, mysterious, to a downright dangerous woman, you know better than to mess with.

the pioneers of course of this modern-day iconic look is the Egyptians, it is almost impossible for you to see a picture of an Egyptian royalty without spotting this look. it is practically a symbol of royalty!

While there are numerous ways in which one could wear the iconic cat-eye look, I think this one seems to be the most common type.

The Sophia Loren style.

Cat-eye tutorial

I came across a YouTube makeup tutorial by Arabesque on how to create the cat eye makeup, and honestly, I think this is one of the best I’ve seen so far.

I’m currently trying it out, although my results are pretty much similar to that of a novice drag queen.

But my oh my, when I do end up nailing it, neither Instagram nor this blog’s community will have enough of it.

So what makeup products would you be needing to perfect this look?

Now for the video to sum it up 💕💕

Here are some of my selects

Eyebrow razors $4.50

NYX professional matt bronzer $7.99

Maybelline waterproof eyeliner $6.10
