I’ll show you how to get a glass skin body for less than $29.97 in 7 days

Glass skin is basically a term used to describe an exceptionally smooth, even-toned, and lustrous skin that’s so flawless it has the appearance of glass.

How to get glass skin on dark skin

It is a clear and elegant way of describing a certain type of enviable complexion, with its predecessor term being coined as “honey skin” or “dewy skin”. A Glass skin aims for an intensely moisturized skin that gives off an almost transparent complexion with a “very youthful, lit-from-within glow.

When trying to get glass skin, the surface of the skin must be extremely smooth, without any bumps or rough texture at all.

In order to create such a moist and lustrous appearance that catches and reflects light (hence, glass skin), there should be a large amount of water directly beneath the surface of the skin. The skin nevertheless, should also look plump and firm.

When most beauty bloggers talk about getting glass skin, most often than not, the face is the focal point. And I get it, that is the most visible part of our body, and that’s the part of our body that carries the most “skin issues”. Nevertheless, having a clear even tone skin is something everyone coverts. Everyone wants that ” glow up”.

But when it comes to achieving a glass skin be it on the face or body, intense hydration makes the core of any glass skin beauty regimen.

Today’s beauty post on getting a glass skin body is also inspired by the Korean 10 step beauty routine, but without all the steps and in half the time.

I’ve been following the tips I would be sharing with you in a while for some time now, and I too have seen noticeable changes within a short period of time.

How to get a glass skin body

But let me just get this right off the bat, if you want an overall tight, smooth, even tone, and dewy looking skin irrespective of your skin tone or type, taking your bath with just any bar soap and slathering on some lotion won’t get you there.

The secrets to getting a glass skin body, what you may be doing wrong.

Everyone loves a clear and healthy-looking skin, and the glass skin trend does just that. Glass skin is meant to evoke the idea of a crystal clear piece of glass, meaning it’s all about skin that looks completely clear.

A poreless, dewy, baby-soft skin is the ultimate goal.

But of course, as with most K-beauty trends, glowing, glass skin can’t be achieved with just a few quick tricks.

The Korean glass skin trend is all about cleansing and layering lightweight, hydrating skincare products to help create the appearance of glowing, dewy skin.

Moisture is pretty much everything.

Nevertheless, when it comes hydration, it is always a multidimensional approach,

you have to both drink it and wear it.

Everything that strips you off of moisture is a NO, be it the midday sun, fluorescent lights, high altitudes, some drying bar soap, a poor lifestyle, or even the dry air from the AC in your car or bedroom.

But let’s face it, realistically, not all of these factors can be avoided or helped.

Everyone knows that the epidermis is the outer layer of our skin which undergoes constant renewal every 28 days as of old skin cells at the top of our bodies die and are then turned over (removed) and replaced by new ones. Nevertheless, this turnover rate is much faster for infants and slows down over the course of our lifetime. This is why babies have much better skin.

The older we get, the more and more dead skin cells we have hanging around our bodies which in turn not only lead to clogged pores and dull skin, but it also blocks the skin from absorbing more moisture and nutrients from your topical creams and lotions, virtually starving your “good skin”.

Having starved skin, equals wrinkles, acne, hyperpigmentation, loose, dry and flaky skin, etc.

A good glass skin body regimen needs to contain at least three things, a good body wash that does not dry out the skin, an exfoliator/toner, or a product containing a decent amount of AHAs or BHAs, and of course, a good moisturizing body lotion.

So how do you make a “glass skin” happen for you in real life? Well, you’ll need to continually (but gently) disintegrate dull, dead skin cells and keep skin hydrated to the max. The following steps will show you how to do it in the most budget-friendly way possible, in the shortest time period possible.

but of course, let’s face it, results are always subjective.

As any beauty routine, how you start off, your foundation is always the most important step, especially when you’re trying to layer on products. This is why,

Step 1: use hydrating body wash only

Cleansing removes dirt and impurities from the surface of your skin for a squeaky clean finish. But the problem with most body washes is that they tend to be ridiculously harsh and drying to the skin, which is really counterproductive to our goal.

Just recently, I tried going a different route in terms of body washes, I instead started using my foaming facial cleansers in place of bath wash.

That was the best decision I had ever made.

I noticed that facial cleansers were not only way milder, but they were also more nutrient-packed than your average bar soap which makes them even more effective.

The trick nevertheless, for me, was to find a product that was not only effective but whose contents were large enough to also stretch out as an everyday body wash for a decent period of time.

Because you’re going to be following up cleansing with an exfoliant or toner which can potentially strip your skin bare, you must pick a facial cleanser that is both gentle, hydrating, and effective.

Garnier skin active sulfate-free foaming cleanser is an extra-gentle cleanser that not only effectively removes face makeup, impurities, and excess oil from the skin while also caring for it, it is also rich in glycerin, a humectant that pulls in moisture to your skin like a sponge.

This sulfate-free foaming lotion softens as it cleanses, so your body is left feeling fresh and clean, never tight or dry, making it very much suitable, even for the driest of skin.

When using, all you need to do is pump a little bit into your bath sponge and you’re good to go. You use it the same way you use your regular body wash.

Step 2: use a toner for your body

I know this tip is sort of new, but in my take from experience, this is one of the things that sets apart a glass skin body routine from a regular one, it is the holy grail.

Toner is basically the in-between skincare step. It’s meant to be used after washing your face or body in this case, before using your serum or moisturizer.

Toners prep the skin for moisturizers and serum while getting rid of excess oil and stubborn dirt, makeup, or leftover dead skin on your face or body after you’ve washed it.

Witch Hazel, is known to tighten pores, purify and refresh skin, it is a natural skin healer, long known for its astringent and pore cleansing properties.

Although bioré is marketed as a cleanser, the ingredients contained in it makes it double as an effective toner. This formula works to deep clean by removing 99% of blemish-causing dirt and oil. Formulated with salicylic acid, this cleanser helps control oil and defend against blemishes before they even start.

To use this effectively, I would suggest you turn the contents of this bottle into an already used foaming cleanser bottle, as foaming up the product before application allows for much better absorption by your skin. You can then rinse off after.

Step 3: go crazy on a good moisturizer

Using the right kind of moisturizer for your skin can help maintain its balance. When the skin is too dry or too oily, many common skin problems like body acne can start to pop up.

If your skin tends to be oily, you should look for lotions instead of creams, and try to find a moisturizer with exfoliant ingredients. If your skin tends to be dry, look for a cream – they tend to have a much higher oil content.

Freshly moisturized skin tends to have a healthy sheen, which can even out any existing blemishes.

Bloom Collagen Firming Cream for Body and Face is an Intensive moisturizer with Aloe Vera, and Green Tea extracts for sagging, aging, and dry skin. This product is gentle enough to be used on your face, yet rich enough to help with dry skin on your body, and even the elbows.

For extra deep hydration, from time to time within the week, after applying this moisturizer to my body, I wrap my body up with a plastic wrap to induce some steam therapy. The natural heat from having your body wrapped up opens up your pores and allows the product to sink into the skin, even more, tripling the hydration and the product’s potency.

In a nutshell, this trick ups your body lotion from just a moisturizer to a body sheet mask, which is another essential to a good glass skin routine.
